Perttu LIndgren's Progress Could Spell Success for Dallas Stars Next Year

Stars' success in minors could salvage rough spring for fans

Mike Heika The Dallas Morning News March 24, 2010

The Texas Stars are 40-24-3-4. They have outscored their opposition, 207-170. They are bouncing between second and third in the AHL's West Division. That's impressive when you consider Nashville is feeding Milwaukee, Phoenix is feeding San Antonio, St. Louis is feeding Peoria and Minnesota is feeding Houston. Those are some of the top prospect groups in the NHL, according to The Hockey News.

Now, the Texas Stars have a lot of veteran players, especially on defense, and that is one of the concerns about the Stars' prospects. But if players like Aaron Gagnon, Perttu Lindgren, Francis Wathier, Warren Peters, Brent Krahn and Matt Climie get experience, Dallas will be deeper and better prepared for next season.

Not to mention, it might be a nice distraction this spring.
